ILLINOIS – An elderly woman was arrested today after police were tipped off that 87-year-old Betty Waterson was alleged to be illegally collecting rainwater.
Eager to stage an arrest the local Police sat stationed outside her homestead, for 6 days straight waiting for the perfect stoem. After a lengthy surveillance, the team got lucky when a random storm system passed through the area, and over 3 hours it sumped over 2” of rain on the area.
The detectives in the warmth of their squad car collected all the video and photographic evidence they desired. Footage showing the pool in her yard eagerly collecting uncountable numbers, tens of thousands of raindrops over the 3-hour rainstorm.
Officer Diggum denied to comment but his deputy Yellis said he was, “disgusted at the blatant flouting of the law and I hope they throw the book at her. Especially after last weeks problem of her grass being a crazy 7 inches tall, rather than the 6 inches allowed!”
